We offer onsite diagnostic investigations, Echocardiography (ECG), Advanced 2D Echocardiography including Strain Rate Analysis and Stress ECHO. Exercise Stress Testing, 24-hour HOLTER and Blood Pressure (BP) Monitoring.
We closely work with Sullivan and Nicolaides and Queensland Xray for other tests.
An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a test that can help diagnose certain heart conditions by measuring the electrical activity of the heart.
Small sticky dots (electrodes) and wire leads are placed on your chest, arms and legs.
The leads attach to the ECG machine (electrocardiograph) which records the electrical activity of the heart muscle and displays this as a trace.
Any abnormality in the heart rhythm or rate, or damage to the heart muscle, can change the electrical activity of the heart.
An echocardiogram, or “echo”, is a scan used to look at the heart and nearby blood vessels.
It’s a type of ultrasound scan which sends out high-frequency sound waves that create echoes when they bounce off the heart.
These echoes are picked up by the probe and turned into a moving image.
Through these images we can check the structure of the heart and surrounding blood vessels, analyse how blood flows through them, and assess the pumping chambers of the heart.
An exercise stress test shows how the heart works during physical activity.
Exercise makes the heart pump harder and faster.
A stress test can show problems with blood flow within the heart.
The test itself involves walking on a treadmill.
Our Cardiac Technician watches your heart rhythm, blood pressure and breathing during the test and creates a report compiling the results.
Exercise stress echocardiography is a test that uses ultrasound imaging to show how well your heart muscle is working to pump blood to your body while you exercise in a controlled setting.
The test itself involves walking on a treadmill and an echo taken before and after the exercise.
Our Cardiac Technician watches your heart rhythm, blood pressure and breathing during the test.
A report is created compiling the results of the stress test and the two echos.
A Holter monitor is a type of portable electrocardiogram (ECG). It records a continuous ECG recording of the electrical activity of the heart over 24 hours or longer during a patient’s normal daily activities.
A standard or resting ECG is one of the simplest and fastest tests used to check the heart. Small, plastic patches (electrodes) are put on certain points on the chest and connected to an ECG machine.
At Pulse Cardiac Care, we use Cardioline Walk Free 3 channel “patch” ECG Holter recorder for a cable-free solution with sampling rate of 250 samples/second.
Ambulatory blood pressure monitoring is a method to measure your blood pressure on a continuous basis for 24 hours, even as you sleep.
The ongoing data helps get a more accurate picture of your blood pressure numbers in order to diagnose high/low blood pressure.
An angiogram is a diagnostic test that opens the gates for further interventions, such as FFR, IVUS, balloon angioplasty, and stenting.
